About the High Plains Chapter of the ACM

The Association
for Computing Machinery is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open interchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.

Here at the High Plains Chapter we are trying to make the computing sciences here at the University of Wyoming a bit more fun to be a part of. We would like to see students competing in some of the various programming contests out there. Also, it is our hope that we can look at what life is like for computer scientists after graduation. We hope to be able to have some folks come and speak to us about their experiences after school and during their careers. We also hope to be able to raise enough funds to maybe pay a visit to some of the potential employers in this area like: Hewlett Packard, Intel, AMD, Avaya, Handel IT, and others who are nearby.

We welcome all who would come to our meetings, we do not expect to only have computer scientists. In fact, it would be awesome if we could get some people from other majors to come to our meetings and just check out what computer science is all about.

If you have any questions or just want to know more about what we are doing email us at
