Chevron Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Scholarships

Chevron assists students in the College of Engineering and Applied Science through an annual program for supporting the schools where Chevron recruits a significant number of employees. As a leading school in supplying qualified employees upon graduation, UW is supported with four annual scholarships in the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering program.

Donald R. Lamb Endowment Fund

Don Lamb

The family of Dr. Don Lamb has chosen to honor Don by establishing the Donald R. Lamb Endowment Fund to provide civil engineering graduate fellowships at the University of Wyoming in highway engineering. Dr. Lamb began his teaching career at UW as a supply instructor in 1951. He was promoted to professor in 1961, was chairman of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering from 1964 to 1974, and remained on the faculty until 1981. Contributions may be made to this fund through the UW Foundation, 1200 East Ivinson Avenue in Laramie, Wyoming, 82070.

Francis M. Long

Francis M. Long Bioengineering Excellence Fund

Caitlin F. Long has established this excellence fund in memory of her father to support the needs of the bioengineering program at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Francis M. Long was a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at UW for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 1995. His early efforts helped build UW's young electrical engineering department into a nationally recognized program and he was instrumental in founding and building the bioengineering degree option. Contributions may be made to this fund through the UW Foundation, 1200 East Ivinson Avenue in Laramie, Wyoming, 82070.

2008-09 Academic Year Recipient: James Richey

Ronald Noble, JR. Memorial Engineering Scholarship

Created by his son and daughter-in-law Ronald A. and Teresa Noble, daughter and son-in-law Robin and Rick Frahm, daughter and son-in-law Katherine and John Colosimo, and wife Stella Noble, the Ronald Noble, Jr. Memorial Engineering Scholarship was set up to grant scholarship assistance to students enrolled in engineering programs. Ronald Noble, Jr. was awarded an engineering scholarship to UW in 1955 but was not able to attend the University. His dream was to attend UW and because he wasn't able his family wanted to set up this scholarship in his name with hopes that it could help someone in his situation fulfill their dream. Preference for this scholarship will be given to Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado students entering UW.

Bob and Mary-Alice Sutherland

Robert L. Sutherland Mechanical Engineering Graduate Fellowship Endowment

Mary-Alice Sutherland (wife) and Nancy L. Sutherland (daughter) have established this endowment to support mechanical engineering fellowships in memory of Robert L. Sutherland. Professor Sutherland became Department Head of Mechanical Engineering at UW in 1960. He retired in 1979 and continued to remain actively involved in special projects for the Mechanical Engineering Department and wrote the History of the University of Wyoming College of Engineering 1883-1993. Contributions may be made to this fund through the UW Foundation, 1200 East Ivinson Avenue in Laramie, Wyoming, 82070.

Fuller Petroleum Engineering Excellence Fund

The Fuller Petroleum Engineering Excellence Fund is used to fund excellence in petroleum engineering education and research through support for faculty, staff, students, programs, equipment, materials, and facilities at the University of Wyoming (preference will be given to U.S. citizens for any faculty or student support).

The Gottberg Family Endowed Scholarships in Engineering are used to support scholarships for out-of-state undergraduate students in engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Wyoming.

Bill and Mary Lou Heink Engineering Fellowship

The Bill and Mary Lou Heink Engineering Fellowship was created to support Wyoming residents graduating from UW College of Engineering and Applied Science undergraduate program that are going on to study in a college graduate program.

Lucien Moncini Memorial Scholarship in Engineering

The Lucien Moncini Memorial Scholarship in Engineering grants scholarships to students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Wyoming. To be eligible for this scholarship award an applicant must also have financial need. Preference should be given to undergraduates, but awards may also be made to graduate students.
