Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Recipient of Internationalization Award

August 24. 2009 -The UW International Board of Advisors presented its Excellence in Student Achievement in Internationalization Undergraduate Student Award to electrical engineering student Chepchumba Limo of Kenya. She has been involved on campus in the Minority Student Leadership Initiative, the Minority Engineering Program, the Society of Women Engineers and the Wyoming African Student Association.

Academic Advisor Steven Barrett in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering says, “I am proud to nominate Chepchumba Limo for an International Student Scholarship. I have found her to be an extremely bright, energetic, hard-working student with a solid objective for the future.”

From Nairobi, Kenya, Chepchumba is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Off to a great start, she maintained a 3.9+ grade point average her first year. She is now pursuing another 19 hours of coursework at UW. She has been recognized with the UW Peak Achievement Scholarship and the Western Heritage Scholarship.
