Architectural Engineering student, Danielle Babione, has been awarded a national Tau Beta Pi Scholarship

April 7, 2008 - The College of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to announce that for academic year 2008-09, Architectural Engineering student, Danielle Babione, has been awarded a national Tau Beta Pi Scholarship. The scholarship, awarded by the Fellowship Board of the Tau Beta Pi Association, is in the amount of $2,000 .

Danielle grew up in Riverton, Wyoming and graduated from Riverton High School in 2005.  She is a senior in the Architectural Engineering program at the University of Wyoming and maintains a 3.85 GPA.  She is the current President of the UW Student Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and has been elected the Vice President of the Banquet for Tau Beta Pi Honor Society for the 2008-09 academic year.   Danielle is a student ambassador for the College of Engineering and Applied Science as well as a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. 

The first in her immediate family to attend college, Danielle plans to graduate in May, 2009.  Her future career goals are to establish a foundation in a large structural consulting firm and gain experience in order to eventually obtain a Professional Engineering License.  Once licensed, she plans to settle into a company and work her way up into a management position.  She is very goal oriented and eager to get started in her career.
