ENGINEERING DESIGN SYMPOSIUM HELD DECEMBER 6, 2007

December 10, 2007 - An estimated 400 people attended the College of Engineering Senior Design Symposium held December 6, 2007. More than 75 students majoring in architectural, chemical, civil, mechanical, and electrical and computer engineering presented and displayed their design projects. Students were required to design, and in some cases to fabricate, the project selected with their advisers.

Nearly 25 individual projects were presented during the symposium. Projects included a design of an adjustable lift bed, design for the UW Berry Center for Natural History and Conservation, design for an Interstate 80 and Interstate 25 directional interchange, and a wireless weather station.

Projects were evaluated by more than 25 judges representing business, industry, and the university.

The UW College of Engineering would like to thank the American Council of Engineering Consultants (ACEC), the National Science Foundation, PacifiCorp, the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation, and the Volpi/Cupal Engineering Design Fund for their sponsorship of the symposium.
