Petroleum Engineering Graduate Fellowship AwardApril 30, 2007 - Saeed Ovaysi is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering of the University of Wyoming. His work consists of three-dimensional dynamic pore-level modeling of two and three-phase flow in mixed-wet porous media under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Piri. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. degree, both in chemical engineering, from Razi University (Kermanshah, 2002) and Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, 2004) in Iran. This graduate fellowship is made possible by the Harry H. Hill Fund for Petroleum Engineering. This fellowship honors the late Harry H. Hill who was instrumental in perfecting the first high octane gasoline used in airplanes during World War I. Hill devoted his time to following worldwide problems relating to production of crude oil, the coordination of crude oil supplies, and a variety of special problems and studies requiring expert technical knowledge of production matters. He was a renowned expert in analyzing the probable costs of replacing crude oil supplies as old fields became exhausted and new fields were needed.
