Ruben Gamboa and Jeffrey Van Baalen Receive a Three Year Contract from the Advanced Research Development Agency

Nov. 13, 2006 - Department of Computer Science Assistant Professor Ruben Gamboa and Department Head and Professor Jeffrey Van Baalen have received a three year, $155,000/year contract from the Advanced Research Development agency for work with Perceptek-Robotics (a Denver company), Drexel University, and the University of Central Florida on automated recognition of events in video.

Gamboa and Van Baalen will be working with three full-time research assistants to build a system that takes data from a vision system and builds an interpretation of the events happening in a video stream. This research will provide information on automating the high-level inference required in the recognition process.
