UWEFE Fund Finances 24/7 Building Access

March 6, 2006 - The University of Wyoming Engineering Fund for Enrichment (UWEFE) recently allocated approximately $10,000 to install a card-swipe system that will allow engineering students 24-hour/7 days-a-week access to the engineering building. The students requested this project to allow them the ability to access study areas, laboratories, and computer labs. Students utilize their UW ID to gain access to the building via the door on the SE corner of the building (between Engineering and Agriculture).

The UWEFE Fund was initiated in 2001 by the Joint Engineering Council. The financing for the Fund comes from a $20/semester fee that engineering students pay and the Fund is controlled by a Council that is made up of 8 engineering students. Students, faculty, and staff may make proposals to the UWEFE Council for funding. The primary requirement for a proposal is that it benefits a large number of engineering students, whenever possible.
