Proposal submitted by computer engineering student Michael Stephens obtains three public kiosks for the Engineering Building

Public Kiosks in Engineering

Feb 20, 2006 - On February 6, the College of Engineering installed three public Kiosks to allow students an opportunity to check their email and WyoWeb messages while in the engineering building. The Kiosks are located on the first floor of Engineering near the vending machines and on the 4th floor near room 4066. The Kiosks are the same as the stations located in the Student Union and are available to students of all disciplines.

Michael Stephens, a junior in computer engineering and a past member of the Central Student Technology Committee, wrote the proposal to obtain the three Kiosks. The pilot program for the three systems will determine how effectively they will be used. If the statistics on use of these Kiosks justify their expansion, Stephens hopes to expand the proposal to include two public Kiosks on every floor of the engineering building.

The Kiosks were funded by the Central Student Technology Committee and the College of Engineering Technology Committee.
