Wyoming Engineering Society - Student Awards

February 13, 2006 - The University of Wyoming College of Engineering nominated their top graduating seniors for the Wyoming Engineering Society (WES) Student of the Year Award. WES recognized these outstanding students at their annual convention in Cheyenne, Wyoming on February 2-4, 2006.

Brian Dean, Electrical Engineering major from Rawlins, was awarded WES Student of the Year. Brian is active in the Christian Student Center, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi where he serves at Vice President of Projects and Chairman of the Awards Committee.

In addition, the following individuals were recognized as department nominees for WES student of the year: Chris Schabron, Architectural Engineering, Laramie; Zachary Tyrrell, Chemical, Kemmerer; Thomas Watson, Civil Engineering, Wheatland; and Patrick Shea, Mechanical Engineering, Douglas.


WES General Scholarship---Nicholas Mahon, Mechanical Engineering, Laramie.

WES General Scholarship---Zach Tyrrell, Chemical Engineering, Kemmerer.

Carl Oslund Memorial Scholarship---Amanda Johnson, Electrical Engineering, Arvada, CO.

WES Surveyors’ Scholarship---Clint Cummings, Civil Engineering, Buffalo.

WES Past Presidents’ Scholarship - Gavin Phillips, Computer Engineering, Thermopolis.

Incoming Freshman Scholarship - Scott Seyfang, Mechanical Engineering, Torrington.
