Demitris Kouris received his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1982, and his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Northwestern University in 1984 and 1987, respectively. In the fall of 2001, after fourteen years with the faculty of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Arizona State University, he joined the University of Wyoming where he currently serves as Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering.

Research Interests


Applied mechanics; particularly micromechanics of defects in solids, behavior of interfaces, thin-film growth, and mechanisms of failure in composite materials. Details here
