David Walrath received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wyoming in 1974 and 1975, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Delaware in 1986. He was promoted to his current position, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UW in 1998. Dr. Walrath has been heavily involved in assisting Wyoming small businesses to compete in the SBIR/STTR programs, for which he received a 2001 Tibbets Award from the US Small Business Administration
