Rapid Prototyping Facility

To aid in the design of machine parts, wind tunnel models and molds, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has installed a Z Corporation 3-D Printer to quickly and inexpensively produce physical models directly from CAD data. Using powder with a binder the Department’s Z406 3-D Printer can make models up to 203 x 254 x 203 mm (8" x 10" x 8") using millions of colors.
