Robert O. Gose - B.S.M.E. 1947

An Upton, WY graduate and WWII combat pilot, Bob returned to UW for BSME with honors in 1947. After managing R & D at Phillips Petroleum and at Wright Air Development Center - also a test pilot, he received MS at Caltech as Institute Scholar researching at Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and then managed TRW systems engineering & technical direction responsibilities for MINUTEMAN - including flight testing on Atlantic and Pacific ranges. He assessed NASA readiness for Apollo flights and man rating of the TRW Apollo Lunar Descent Rocket - also used to return Apollo 13. He led design of satellite program for Japan's Science and Technology Agency. Bob then managed worldwide diversification for TRW in petroleum, electric utility and transportation markets - including general management of subsidiary companies. He served on API Subcommittee for Offshore Operations. A retired TRW Vice President, Bob manages companies commercializing technologies and is inventor on several patents. Bob was first Co-Chairman and Interim CEO of Wyoming Business Council in start-up. He serves corporate boards, UW Boards, Northwest Community College, and is National Chairman of UW General Sam Phillips Engineering Endowment program.
