Parallel Robotics Group Information
Hexapod

The University of Wyoming Parallel Robotics Research Group is actively investigating the design and application of hexapod structures for precision pointing and vibration isolation. This research was initiated by Dr. John E. McInroy during two summers spent at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as an ASEE Summer Fellow. The current UW HEX, pictured above, is a second generation design, owing much of its structure and refinement to NASA JPL's hexapod. The research conducted at the University of Wyoming has been sponsored by the BMDO/AFOSR and ARO through the Department of Defense EPSCoR program, as well as through the University of Wyoming Major Equipment Fund and the University of Wyoming NASA Space Grant Program.
