Graduate Studies Program


Admission Requirements for a Regular Master of Science:


Bachelor's Degree

Electrical engineering or similar degree in another branch of engineering or in a related field, provided that the student completes prerequisite courses without graduate credit as defined by the student's graduate committee.

GPA

3.0 GPA (A = 4.0) or equivalent in an ABET accredited bachelor's program (or international equivalent).

GRE

Students must achieve a score in the 40th percentile on the GRE Verbal examination, the 65th percentile on the GRE Quantitative examination.

TOEFL

A minimum total of 550 (79 iBT) is required for students for whom English is not the native language. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recommends that any international student seeking financial support take the TSE.


Masters program, BS/MS:
  • Completion of the five core EE courses (EE 2220, EE 3220, EE 3310, EE 2390, EE 3150)
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.40
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25 in ECE department courses
  • At least three letters of recommendation must be provided by the applicant (at least two must be from ECE faculty at UW)
