Team Round:  Each School team has 20 minutes to work together and complete 10 math problems.

Scores are kept for individuals and teams.  The individual score is the sum of the number of Sprint round questions answered correctly plus twice the number of correctly answered Target Round questions.  The team score is calculated by dividing the sum of the team members' individual scores by 4, and adding twice the number of Team Round questions answered correctly.  (Taken from the 2006 MATHCOUNTS General Instructions)

CountDown Round:  The top eight individual competitors participate in the exciting CountDown Round, much like Jeopardy-with-Math.  This occurs during the Stare Competition Banquet.
