Title: Demonstration and Performance Assessment of a Net Zero Energy School Building in Wyoming (New LCCC Campus Building in Laramie, WY).

Principal Investigator's Name(s): Cenk Yavuzturk and Jay A. Puckett

Project Timeline: September 2005 - December 2008

Program Overview: The project deals with design of data acquisition systems, instrumentation and long-term data acquisition on building renewable energy system components such as ground source heat pumps and ground heat exchangers, wind turbines, photovoltaic solar collectors as well as building space and building envelope, using a theoretically simulated and an actual building (the new LCCC campus building in Laramie, WY).

Objective of the Project: The goal of the project is to obtain long-term performance parameters and operational data on renewable energy systems for school buildings in cold climates, to analyze and assess system performance characteristics and finally to develop design guidelines and procedures for net zero energy buildings.
