Gamboa Field Data

The purpose of this web site is to desiminate hydrologic data from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's (STRI) Gamboa field site. Except where noted equipment and data is the product of the UConn Hydrology group, when using data or figures from this web page please cite Justin Niedzialek and Fred Ogden, and this www site. We would like to acknowledge the generous support of the U.S. Army Research Office and U.S. Army Tropic Regions Test Center (YPG). Invaluable logistical support has been provided by STRI.
Broadly,
the objective of ongoing work in Gamboa is to better understand
important runoff production mechanisms in the humid tropics.
To that end a wide variety of instruments are being utilized to
better understand the water budget and important pathways for
water at a small, workable scale (~1.0
km^2).
