Strut Damper

A strut with a shock absorber attached to the end was placed in the plane of the structure between the pole and mast arm. The strut was secured with steel collars and was approximately 24 ft (7 m) long. The shock absorber was a Rancho adjustable automobile shock absorber (Model RS 9000) with 5 settings: setting 1 being the softest position and setting 5 being the firmest position (most damping).
